Why gear oil & lube oil filtration is important in construction equipments?

What happens to your lubrication oil & gear oil over time?

  • Oil break down & abnormal noise from the gear box. Further degradation of the gear oil will catastrophic failure of the gear box.
  • Oil must not froth or aggressively affect gaskets and other non-metal elements. It should also maintain proper consistency and lubricating properties regardless of temperature.
  • During the operation of the machine atmospheric dust and wear and tear of metal parts got added as a contamination in the oil.

The contaminated oil results into increase in viscosity which can be a major cause into failure of gear box function.

Advantages of filtering oil

  • BAPL Centrifuge Filtration removes the particulate from the gear oil, and thus extends the life of the fluid by 1.5 times.
  • Centrifuge removes both fine and gross contamination, which helps in maintaining the oil viscosity.
  • The smooth functioning of gear box increases uptime of the machine and reduction into the maintenance downtime.
  • For reduction in client capital investment we have created innovative trolley mounted offline filtration centrifuge unit.

Principle of operation for centrifugal oil cleaner:

  • The centrifugal oil cleaner uses centrifugal force for separation of dirt from oil.
  • The oil contaminated with solid particles is admitted under pressure in the rotor bowl.
  • The oil exits the rotor bowl through two nozzles located at the bottom of the centrifuge rotor.
  • The exit velocity of the oil gives a reaction force to the centrifuge rotor and the rotor rotates at a very high speed.
  • The solid dirt particles in suspension in oil experience a centrifugal force in excess of 2000 times gravity and are thrown radially outwards.
  • The solid dirt gets stuck on the rotor bowl wall and the clean oil is drained from the bowl back to the tank.
